Age of Mythology is a mythology based real-time strategy video game developed by Ensemble Studios and published by Microsoft Game Studios. A spin-off from the Age of Empires series, Age of Mythology takes some of its inspiration from the myths and legends of the Greeks, Egyptians, and Norse, rather than from actual historical events.

The campaign is story is about a hero Arkantos from Atlantis who reluctantly on insistence of his elder Krios joins the Greeks in the Trojan War but unknown to him is that the Trojan War is but a small part of the huge adventure that he is going on. On the way he rescues the wise Chiron, a centaur hero, Egyptian hero Queen Amanra, Norse Hero Regenlief and encounters Gargarensis who is trying to open the gates of tartarus for the Titan Kronos to escape who has been banished by Zeus himself in the pits of Tartarus. Also unknown to him is that Poseidon is helping Gargarensis freeing Kronos as Kronos tempts Poseidon to rule all the heavens.
